Hydro Lab Expo
The Expo is a unique tradeshow like setting in the Hydro Lab. It has 30 displays of manufacturers with products related to the restoration business. It enables the students while attending class to roam thru the variety of booths during their breaks to see tools used in the industry that they may never have seen before.

This open classroom setting has all the amenities needed to learn and instruct. The classroom utilizes 2 63” plasmas, a large projection screen and also has a VHS, DVD and document camera for the instructor so that any piece of material needed for class can be shown to the students
Watch VideoHydro Lab Extraction Tables
The 4 Extraction tables set up in the back of the classroom give the students “Hands On” testing of the extraction tool of their choice. Twenty gallons of water are added to each table and the students pick and use 4 different extraction tools during the test. What better way to determine which tool is best for your company than test it during class and see what the best is.

Lab #2 is a dual purpose Lab. The Expo suite of Grand Northern products is an area demonstrating the process of a variety of Media Blasting. During the Media Blasting class at the Hydro Lab, this Lab is used for a variety of Media Blasting techniques usually demonstrating blasting with baking soda or dry ice.
HYDRO LAB 3: Specialty Drying
Lab #3 is one of 2 specialty floor drying hands on demonstrations and testing. The platform is a 600 sq/ft platform contains 200 sq/ft each of hardwood flooring, ceramic tile and marble floors. Half of the platform is OSB underlayment and the other half is plywood which enables the students to test and dry.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 4: Residential Wall Drying
Lab #4 is one of 2 crawl space simulations. In this crawl space, the students use this area for a variety of testing. Testing includes drying specialty floors from underneath of Lab #3, a residential room set up for “In place drying” and 12 4’x7’ wall sections of insulated and non-insulated walls to test the variety of wall drying equipment available in the industry.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 5: Heater Demonstrations
Lab # 5 is a 1200 sq/ft room used for a variety of demonstrations. Similar to Lab #1, but most commonly used to display, test and compare 10 makes and models of heat or heating equipment used to help control the temperature during the drying process. The students get to see all the manufacturers makes and models together to compare and test at one time.

Lab #6 is an identical Lab as #3. This Lab allows one team to test one product on one area and another team to test different equipment. This Lab is also an Expo suite displaying the variety of products available from Injectidry industries.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 7: Commercial Floor Drying
Lab #7 is also the mirror image of Lab #4 with the exception of the floor set up in a commercial setting. This area has commercial desks, filing cabinets and blue print cabinets in the area that one may see in a commercial setting. Commonly used in hands on during the Hi-Tech and CDS classes, this area is a unique setting for the hands on commercial restorer.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 8: The Wind Tunnel
The wind tunnel is used for both research and air mover testing at the Hydro Lab. The students need to see how air flow from a fan is exhausted and the “Wind Tunnel” provides that opportunity.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 9: Concrete Drying (CDS)
Lab #9 is 8400 sq/ft of concrete and concrete walls. Often see in warehouse settings, this large Lab is used in multiple classes and hands on testing and demonstrations. Students use a multitude of equipment and supplies to test, monitor, contain and dry concrete. From exotic containment to boring holes in the concrete for moisture testing, this large area allows the students to open their minds when it comes to drying multiple items.

Lab #10 is like no other around. This Lab toted as “The Wall” is a 36’ x 120’ commercial wall with 6 layers of 5/8” drywall. The students are challenges in Hi-Tech and CDS classes on “IF” or “How To” dry this massive structure.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 11: Dehumidifier / LGR Testing Room
The DH room as named is exactly that. Having 9 manufacturers and over 20 models of dehumidifiers and LGR’s in the same 1200 sq/ft room, this room is flooded and the units are turned on. The students get to test and determine with their own eyes which units work the best.

Lab #12 is a 100 80 sq/ft kitchen cut away. Used in a multitude of classes, this area gives the students a visual opportunity to determine if they are finding the moisture. A variety of moisture meters and techniques are discussed on the demonstration and hands on testing area enabling an educational look at how to find moisture.
Watch VideoHYDRO LAB 13: The Farm House
The “Farm House” may not be modern, but it definitely provides a challenge. A 100 year old 2 story farm house built and standing on the original log timbers it was built. Real outside climate(heat, snow & ice0 hardwood floors, multiple layers of flooring, plaster walls, drywall over plaster, raised floors, no heat, and little power provide an extensive amount of items the students have to overcome when the use this one of a kind testing area.

The kitchen is not usually used during training, but is an added benefit to each class. During a tour of the facility, the class discusses marketing to their clients and the kitchen and cooking is a different way to market.
